Kitchen appliances
The refrigerator is located in the kitchen. You’ll find a BRITA water filter in it that you can use.
The stove and oven are electric. To turn on the stove, simply press the button on the front of the unit and use the dials to select your desired heat setting. The oven works the same way.
The microwave is located above the range.
The dishwasher is located to the right of the refridgerator. The dishwasher detergent is located under the sink.
The coffee maker is located on the countertop to the left of the refridgerator.
WARNING: There is no garbage disposal in the kitchen sink, please put all food scraps in the compost or in the garbage.
Other appliances
The washer and dryer are located in the basement. To use the washer, simply load your clothes, add detergent to the dispenser, and hold the start button for a few seconds. The dryer works the same way. Since it is a front load washer, please leave the door open after a wash. Also, please remove the lint from the dryer after a load.
The thermostat is located in the dining room next to the book shelf. To adjust the temperature, rotate the dial. Since the house was built in 1910, there are some drafts in various rooms. If you are getting cold either bump up the thermostat or turn on one of the provided space heaters which can be found in a few of the bedrooms.
Unforunately, the fireplace is currently not functional and is in need of servicing. Please do not try to start it.
Feel free to use the firepit outside, you can pick up logs at the 7-11 down the street.
Feel free to use the grill outside. Please clean the grill after using it.
Trash
If you happen to be staying with us on Thursday night, the trash collection comes Friday morning, the city collection doesn’t really come at consistent times so it’s better to put everything out the night before. If you have generated a large amount of trash please help us get it collected so we can keep the cans empty for the next guests. New trash bags can be found under the kitchen sink.
